Branding Time on the Rez!

Play Flash version

Warning - this little piece contains shots of cowboys, cowgirls, cows, and calves. Do not watch if you are offended by shots of ranch life, or little cows getting branded. Having said that, yesterday, I went down to Kevin Pourier's place - out in the badlands of South Dakota. His Dad, Sonny, likes to brand his cows in the spring, and even though it looked like we might get some rain, there were just too many folks on their way over to cancel it. I tell you - ranch life is pretty great. Maybe not so much for the calves.

The old Transmitter being hauled out!
Built in 1981, our building is right next to tower, high atop Porcupine Butte. It's starting to fall apart with some major leaks when it rains. We could use your help, and appreciate anything you want to do for us. Remember, Lakota Communications is a 501(c)3 Non-profit corporation and any contributions are totally tax deductible.
